An Affordable Web Site Traffic System

By Riggie Freyer

Buying traffic is getting expensive. You only have to track the rising prices of clicks at Google Adwords to realize this fact. You can get your web site off the ground fast by simply investing some time. Use software tools and a simple promotion strategy to increase the flow of visitors to your websites.

Here’s a Mini-Traffic System to Get Affordable Web Site Traffic:

Step 1. Create a Blog and Write Content for It - the Right Way

This is a free method that only costs your time. It's very effective to build traffic to your web site or blog over time. The search engines love blogs and spider active blogs frequently. Once you've registered a domain, setup a wordpress blog and write content for it to get traffic.

Before you start writing your articles, make sure you research your keywords first, and then target long tail keywords (keywords with 2 or more words). Use Wordtracker.com of Nichebot.com for your keyword research. Then read up and apply the basics of Search Engine Optimization so that the articles on your blog get found by the search engines. You'll then start to get traffic for many of your articles, especially if you work on getting links to these articles.

Step 2. Get Links to your Long Tail Content Pages

Use Web 2.0 to Get Your Content Found Quickly

Set up accounts at digg.com and propeller.com. Then submit good content at these sites and you'll get indexed quickly by the search engines. Your site will also get additional links from these authority web sites. Now you can go ahead and add additional links to your web page and get a good ranking.

Should you want to submit to more Web 2.0 sites, you can go to http://www.socialmarker.com and promote your website or blog to to all the social networks immediately. You'll need to sign up to the social networks manually the first time, but after that the submission is fast and easy via socialmarker.com.

Comment on Blogs Which Have the Allow "Do Follow" Attribute

You can definitely find blogs in your niche which will have the "Do Follow" attribute. This means if you leave a comment on their blog, the search engines will follow a link in your comment to your web site. Please don't advertise on their blog, as you're a guest on their site… so add value to their blog in exchange for a link.

You can find a free program to find these blogs at http://www.ezbusinessneeds.com/dofollow.php. It works fine, but does not seem to do the best job of finding all the blogs in a niche. I use the professional version of Fast Blog Finder as it finds a lot more blogs with Google page rank. You can get a trial version here.

Now add a Press Release….

Create a press release and submit it to free and paid services. The best paid ones I use are prweb.com and webwire.com. I prefer the paid version of prweb.com. For $220 you can submit a press release and imbed a link to your website. You might think it's very expensive, but you could get a lot of traffic from your press release and some great links which will give your site a nice boost in the search engine rankings.

Some free press release sites to possibly get you more targeted traffic are:

  • theopenpress.com
  • prlog.org
  • openpr.com/news/submit.html
  • pr.com/promote-your-business
  • pr9.net/press
  • free-press-release.com

Let me know which your favorite traffic methods are and why they work for you…

Thanks Terry. Socialmarker isn't perfect, but it helps to promote your site with speed.

If you visited each social bookmarking page one at a time, it would take you at least and hour and more…

Hi Zohai,

I haven't released a press release on the weekend yet… but simply releasing one during the week has worked well for me.

Press releases (to me atleast) are one of those things that seems like a good idea, but once i create one i think i might regret it. Mainly because having a site in a financial niche usually require so many links to stay ranked and with the $250 i may spend on a press release, i could spend that on directories.

But i guess it all depends on how many links the press release service will give compared to directory submission. Also for those of you who's thinking about buying links, do not waste your money on text link ads initially especially if you're on a tight budget because you may end up regretting it.

Looks like it all comes down to what you want to get linked, to which and what you want released. Thanks for the post.

These are really good tips. I'm doing the commenting bit now, but find it very tedious and time consuming. I have had success with articles too. They seem to spread well and give good inbound links.
