Up until now, most website owners have been searching for blogs which use the "Do Follow" attribute to get targeted keyword links back to their sites. They then added a comment to the blog and got a one-way link back to their site..
The problem was… the anchor text (the hyperlinked words of the link) which pointed back to their site was their name, such as Joe Smith. If you had a website about blue widgets, you need the link to say "blue widgets" and not "Joe Smith".

It really is a win win situation – if used correctly, the web master is asking for comments so they should play fair, the commenter should also provide a decent response … I get mad when the blogger uses the keywordluv just to get comments and has the do-follow attribute turned off.

Digg is not what it used to be, I do still use it once in a while for traffic campaigns.
Useful list but you still need to look if they are do follow or no follow. I observed that most blog owners will tell that they are do follow but they just want traffic, which means you will see no follow on their blog.
I think the only problem with this is that people abused it, people should also put a related comment to the topic. These are like spam messages in the inbox of your email. It is very useful to both who does follow link and to the blogger, it will benefit them both but the thing is, the blogger and other readers will not get an idea based on the comments.
How do you handle so many comments? That is a lot of moderation.

KeywordLuv plugin is really useful to find do follow blogs. It provides large numbers of do follow blogs but you still need to check because no follow blogs are mixed.

This tool is fantastic – a great way to show repsect to your readers and to encourage a bit of debate…sometimes people need a bit of a push/incentive to do so! I’m sure you’ll have seen traffic increase significantly though as a result, at least I hope so!
Thanks for this, but the sad fact is that some blogs will be using this today and suddenly no longer using tomorrow. I had good comments on blogs that were previously dofollow but they are all nofollow now. What a waste of time I spent making those comments.

Like the idea of allowing people to comment and get a keyword with a link out there. It’s helpful but certainly a win win situation for people who take the time to post a sincere comment. Much appreciated.
I wonder how long this is going to last. Will it keep growing and then suddenly stop when Google decides not to count these links ? For now use it , use it, use it.
Honestly it's really not that hard for google to detect this plugin and disable link juice on those pages. In fact they might already have done so because I haven't seen my ranking gone up doing blog commenting on blogs with keywordluv
Make sure you comment on blogs which have their own domain
instead of commenting on blogs created at blogger.com, for example,
which have a tendency to dissapear rather quickly

search for your url directly.
Otherwise just using your keyword is fine.

But from my guess(!) i can tell you that if there's a no-follow attached than KeywordLuv is not useful.
The plugin is really ingenious. I have found that this can be a benefit to many blogs. Comment on mines whenever you want.

I think it has been well proven time and time again that both of these plugins are a great way to not only increase traffic on your site, but also increase relevant discussion.
This plugin is great. I think it makes it much more likely that people will stop leaving keywords in their name…if they figure out how to use it right.

I would just like to point out though that KeywordLuv is not for all WP themes. There are some themes which are incompatible with the plugin. The iNove theme for one is not compatible with this plug-in.
There are some workarounds though which you can find at the plugin developer's site.

It is important to try and get links from sites that are relevant to yours. Google will add more of a reward for links that are relevant and related to your site over random links.
I've tried adding this plugin to Blogger but it is a lot more difficult. Any ideas?

Kai, simply use Wordpress… your blog is unique and
it works well with the keywordLuv plug-in.
It is important to make sure you are getting good links from relevant sites to make sure you are getting the most value out of your backlinks. Make sure your links are working the best for you.
I love keyword luv and comment luv I just recently installed both on my blog and they work great in gaining more traffic and getting more comments! Also another awesome plugin for wordpress worth mentioning is top commentators widget.

Nice post keyword luv is the way to go I have it enabled on my blog. You get a lot more clicks with this Wordpress add on and makes commenting that much more pleasureable.
I think it is a great tool for getting quick links. But I think the greatest value is getting on hard to get sites where there are only a few links. I have managed to do this by asking my customers for a link after we complete a job for them and this has been successful.
