What was the best way for you to increase your pagerank on google?

I'm looking for information that help me to increase my PR. An i hope this will help.
By the way, if i join all the forum, what is the PR i can achieve?

I would not worry too much about Pagerank. It's more important to get targeted links with your keyword in the anchor text.

If you watch the Search Engine listings, you'll see many lower PR sites outranking higher PR sites… because they have more targeted links.

So… get good target links from authority sites, and you'll see your pages rank well.

A couple of comments above this mentions to not be too concerned about PR. I am confused about how PR comes in to play. I know anchored links are important but is it that much more beneficial to have them from a high PR?

Great post – stumbled. I've looked around for this kind of info for ages and I'm grateful for you sharing all the links. I'm really finding that blogs are helping me to move certain pages up the rankings for certain keywords and actually it's really interesting reading stuff in your own field and finding out what others think and are sharing.

Getting a link from a high pagerank site will help you, especially when the high pagerank site is an authority site.

I don't get hung up on pagerank though… I simply concentrate on getting relevant anchored links to my site.

Thanks for the great resources! Another good idea is to give a link back to the page where you posted your comment in order to help add value to that page, which in turn makes your link more valuable. You want to link from a different site than the one you linked to though. Reciprocal linking doesn't have as much value as a one way link.So many people get fixated on page rank and don't understand the value of keyword authority. A high PR link with the text "click me" is of far lower value than a few dozen low PR links with a nice long tail keyword phrase.Hahaha, nobody can get Vista to work! I think I'll be running XP on Ubuntu for a loooong time.

This list is great but the problem i keep having is with the mods. The moderators have no tolerance for financial website at all. It's kinda unfair really because it shouldn't matter what type of site you have in your sig as long as it's not spam. But it doesn't stop me from trying though.

Is web going to be a small wonder? I think all lists around the web are same. I planned to compile a list of my own and have gathered all lists which I could, I am shocked to check all those lists with my "SEO for Firefox" Plugin, almost half of all blogs were not "Do follow" so people are commenting and commenting on blogs which even they hate just for a link….I say it is worrying.

I agree, I've come across lots of blogs which pretend to be "Do Follow" blogs, but were actually No Follow blogs. This is very dishonest.

We simply have to check these blogs in future before posting links to them…

Chances for good readers are very high when someone might have a "do follow" blog. What is a benefit of such traffic which has 100% bounce rate with 0 seconds on the blog? Nothing, there is no benefit. If someone comes to your blogs, read posts, post comments, I can bet that you are going to have a loyal reader.

Sup Riggie! I stumbled upon thew world of freyer when manically looking for any sign of a page rank update, for about the 24,000 time this week! Its beginning to wear on me, i know its not important, blah, shes just an outdated cached view of things, blah blah, serps should already show the gravy, blah blah blah, but hey, that swinebag seems to have control over my fingers, and i dont think im getting them back till i see a little green love. Anyway to the point; surely these follow blogs get raped and possibly watched/flagged when lists like this float about, possibly not, how are they for anyone?

Also i got an add-on for firefox the other day, called searchstatus, this would compliment your plan/steps very well, you can view the 'nofollow' links on a page highlighted, aswell as page rank and a few other things.

And kudos, ive never heard of this keywordluv thing before, but sounds gd, i will try her out now -)

So if you had limited time would you spend it finding unrelevant high pr links or links from relevant sites? Preferably you would want both, but if you had to choose what would you do?

Is there a social bookmarking site that you prefer over all the others? I can probably only find time to bookmark to 1 or 2, especially if I am bookmarking others stuff as well.

I am not sure if signature links do any good anymore on forums. They might not have any pr on alot of the posts and google might not count them.

The problem I find with high page rank forums is most of the internal pages where your sig will appear are PR0 or unranked. So you're not getting any PR love!

That's what i've noticed, too. Most forums are very strict with their signatures. One forum even requires you to have 50 posts before you can actually have links in your signature.

No it's not that easy to get a PR 6 link from Spurl… even if you end up with a PR3 links you're doing fine!

Page rank is much more important for incoming links than many people realise. A single inbound link from a PR 8 site is worth more than multiple links from more lowly sites. And doesn't necessarily take more effort.

Definately some great sites to use there. make sure you get a plugin if you use firefox called "nodofollow" it basically highlights if websites allow do follow or have nodofollow links so you dont waste your time posting somewhere it doesnt count
